Course Description

The Senior Food Technology programme is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required for them to continue in the hospitality industry, whilst placing an importance on food safety and incorporating some technology and home economics achievement standards. During the year students will look at the subjects of and prepare dishes associated with the following - terminology used in food and recipes, knife care and use, baked products, sauce and soup and finger food. They will also have an external exam on food labelling and nutrition and or a Generic Technology standard.
