Level 1 Outdoor and Physical Education

Course Description

This course blends Physical and Outdoor Education, offering credits in both. You'll apply practical skills like rock climbing and mountain biking on and off campus. The curriculum includes a range of topics, from high ropes to group processes. This course requires trips to complete hands-on standards. To be eligible for some credits, you must attend these trips.

Prerequisites: Active participation and engagement in junior HOPE What pathways does this subject lead to: OED and PED 200/300 Specific Requirements: Active participation, engagement with learning, trips and paperwork. Key Skills gained: Self-management, risk identification and minimisation, movement strategy Parental contribution: Food for their child for trips and camps. Gear requirements: Thermals, beanie, rain jacket, sun hat, woollen socks, fleece. Days out of school: Dependent on external factors, e.g: weather, consent, etc.
