Level 2 Advanced Mathematics and Statistics

MAT201
Course Description

Teacher to contact with questions: Mrs R. Draffin

Mathematics is fundamental in being able to solve problems. Mathematics can be challenging, but it is useful in a variety of professions and future pathways. Beyond NCEA Level One, Mathematics becomes specialised and focuses on more abstract ideas and problems that require logical and critical thinking skills.
MAT201 builds on NCEA Level One knowledge and focuses on abstract Algebra and Calculus, or on Statistics. This course gives you the option to choose which assessments you focus on.

All: Trigonometry (AS91259), Coordinate Geometry (AS91256), Networks (AS91260)

Algebra Options: System of Equations (AS91269), Algebra (AS91261), Calculus (AS91262)

Statistics Options: Questionnaire (AS91263), Inference (AS91264), Experiments (AS91265)
