Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

No prerequisites needed except the desire to work hard, have an interest in the arts and be will to move out of your comfort zone


The course is based around a common theme and is co-constructed by you and your peers. Throughout the course you will demonstrate an understanding of our bicultural society through painting, photography, collage, print making and design.
You will use drawing and painting, sculpture and photography methods to record information, express your thoughts and emotions to make personal statements.
You will use conventions to enhance this learning and produce a folio of work in Terms 3 and 4 around a theme.

Modules:
Term 1Understanding Art and recording information in a variety of ways
Term 2Develop visual ideas into another area of art e.g photo, sculpture or design
Term 3Folio Boards
Term 4Folio completion and group project

At the completion of this course you will have:
•A portfolio of work to take into further education and employment
•Thinking skills employers are looking for in today’s market
•Entry subjects for Polytechnic and University and other tertiary study
•The world of work as your thinking skills will be enhanced following arts courses
