Mathematics is fundamental in being able to solve problems. Mathematics can be challenging, but it is useful in a variety of professions and future pathways. Beyond NCEA Level One, Mathematics becomes specialised and focuses on more abstract ideas and problems that require logical and critical thinking skills.
MAT202 builds on NCEA Level One knowledge and focuses on Geometry and Statistics.

Students must have gained at least 10 NCEA Level 1 Mathematics or Statistics credits in MAT 101, MAT102 or MAT103.
