Level 2 Biology
Teacher to contact with questions: Mrs E. Carr
Studying Biology gives students a deeper understanding of what makes each of us different as well as developing a greater understanding of the uniqueness of Aotearoa’s ecology.
In Biology, we unpack how DNA is used as the instruction manual for making the building blocks of our bodies, as well as how variation with DNA results in our unique combination of features. We then extend this idea to our native species to understand how Biology is used in conservation. Biology also challenges students to apply their scientific knowledge to social issues such as vaccinations, use of 1080 and maintaining the quality of our whenua.
If you are curious about what makes you, you, or understanding and sustaining our natural environment, then take Biology in 2020.
