Course Description

In, through and about Physical Education. This course is aimed towards gaining credits from both PE and OED domains. You will work through a range of theory-based standards while at school then apply them while out participating in activities offsite. Topics may include: Rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, surfing, high/low ropes, self-management, movement strategies, kotahitanga promotion through movement strategies, movement influences on Aotearoa.

Prerequisites: Active participation and engagement in junior HOPE What pathways does this subject lead to: OED and PED 200/300 Subject Specific Requirements: Nil Key Skills gained: Self-management, risk identification and minimisation, movement strategies, kotahitanga promotion, hauora impacts from movement. Parental contribution: Food for their child for trips and camps Gear requirements: Thermals, beanie, rain jacket, sun hat, woollen socks, fleece. Days out of school: 15 days + |
